Home additions and room additions in Houma and Thibodaux

More bedroom, more kitchen, more porch. Additions that match the house you already have and pass inspection the first time.

Add the room instead of moving

An addition is usually the cheapest way to get the space your family needs without leaving the neighborhood, the school, or the lot you like. We handle the whole job: tying into the existing foundation and roofline, matching siding and brick, rerouting plumbing and electrical, and getting the permit and inspections through the parish.

Additions we build most often

  • Bedroom and bathroom additions, including master suites and in-law rooms.
  • Porch and carport enclosures turned into conditioned living space, like the front-porch-to-bedroom conversion we recently completed in Patterson.
  • Kitchen and dining bump-outs that open up a cramped floor plan.
  • Attached garages, shops, and shed additions, including a 400 square foot shed addition with a reinforced safe room in Thibodaux.
  • Second-story additions where the foundation and structure allow.

Matching the existing house

A good addition does not look like an addition. We match roof pitch, eave detail, brick or siding, window style, and interior trim so the new room reads as original. On older homes with settled slabs we survey the existing floor before we pour so the new slab meets it flush.

Cost-plus or fixed price

Additions on older houses can hide surprises in the walls and under the slab. We offer both a fixed-price contract and a cost-plus contract with a fixed contractor fee and an open book of every invoice. Either way, you get a line-item estimate before you sign anything.

Home Additions questions

How much does a room addition cost in Houma?

It depends on the size, whether it includes a bathroom or kitchen, and how complicated the roof and foundation tie-in is. A simple bedroom addition is the most affordable; anything with plumbing costs more. We give a detailed line-item estimate for every project before you commit.

Do I need a permit for an addition?

Yes. Any addition of conditioned space in Terrebonne or Lafourche Parish requires a building permit and inspections at foundation, framing, rough-in, and final. We pull the permit and schedule the inspections as part of the job.

Can you enclose my porch or carport?

Yes. Porch and carport enclosures are one of the most cost-effective additions because the slab and roof are already there. We add insulated walls, windows, HVAC, and finishes to make it true living space.

Will the addition match my house?

That is the goal on every job. We match roof pitch, siding or brick, windows, and trim, and we survey the existing slab so floors meet flush.

How long does an addition take?

Most single-room additions take six to ten weeks from permit to final inspection. Additions with bathrooms or kitchens take longer because of rough-in and finish work.
