Commercial construction for small businesses and property owners
Metal buildings, warehouse bay enclosures, tenant build-outs, and new salon, restaurant, and retail buildings. Commercial license CL.75458.
Commercial work sized for local business
We build for the owner who needs a 1,500 square foot salon, a restaurant on a tight lot, a warehouse bay closed in and climate-controlled, or a strip center roof replaced without closing the tenants. Projects big enough to need a licensed commercial contractor, small enough that the owner's name is on the contract and the owner answers the phone.
Metal buildings and warehouses
Pre-engineered metal buildings on engineered slabs for shops, storage, and light industrial use. We recently enclosed a warehouse bay in Houma and have priced wind-break and enclosure work on elevated structures in Cocodrie.
New commercial buildings
Ground-up construction of salon, restaurant, office, and retail buildings, including the sitework, parking, utilities, and ADA requirements that come with a commercial permit. Recent work includes a 1,500 square foot salon building in Houma and restaurant designs sized for parking requirements.
Tenant build-outs and renovations
Interior build-outs for new tenants, demising walls, restrooms, finishes, and storefronts, scheduled around your lease start date.
Commercial roofing
TPO membrane, metal R-panel replacement, and flat-to-pitched conversions on strip centers, warehouses, and institutional buildings in Houma, Thibodaux, and Metairie. See our roofing page.
Why owners hire us
Oley Autin spent years as a quality control and project manager on industrial plant and refinery projects before starting Charles Grey Construction. That background shows up in the paperwork: real schedules, documented inspections, clean change orders, and a certificate of insurance and license certificate attached to every proposal.
Commercial Construction questions
Are you licensed for commercial construction in Louisiana?
Yes. Charles Grey Construction LLC holds Louisiana State Licensing Board for Contractors Commercial/Building Construction License CL.75458 and carries $1M per occurrence / $2M aggregate general liability and workers' compensation insurance.
What size commercial projects do you take?
Most of our commercial work is small-to-mid-size: new small commercial buildings, warehouse enclosures, tenant build-outs, and commercial roofs. If it needs a licensed commercial contractor and the owner wants a straight line-item number, it is probably a fit. We subcontract specialty trades through a vetted local network.
Do you build metal buildings?
Yes. We erect pre-engineered metal buildings on engineered slabs and enclose or renovate existing metal buildings.
Can you replace a commercial flat roof?
Yes. We install TPO membrane roofs and replace aged metal roofs on strip centers, warehouses, and institutional buildings, and can convert flat roofs to pitched truss roofs.
Do you provide a certificate of insurance?
Yes. We attach our license certificate and certificate of insurance to every commercial proposal and can add your company as an additional insured.
